Welcome Fabric (2025) is a collage of film photographs I took while studying in Belfast, four thousand miles from home. They are the new places where I felt welcomed and comforted: the kitchen, my church, a local friend’s house, maybe the forest or meadow. I cut them up and carefully wove them together—at once giving these moments context and making them almost unrecognizable. They form fabric: a universal symbol of warmth, protection, and unity.
From afar, they are nothing more than strands—warp and weft. Upon closer inspection, the moments of warmth and comfort reappear.
